Understanding "New Topics" vs. "Today's Posts" vs. "Latest Activity" vs. "Latest Topics"

    Go to Thank You
I have seen so many different posts on this topic... and I am still confused by the results I am seeing given by each of these "functions".

    Today's Posts:

    - Includes posts which are not from today.

    New Topics:

    - Does actually not check whether or not a topic was newly created but checks for new (i.e., unread) posts within any topic.

    Latest Activity:

    - I have no idea what this really does. I would have expected all items shown in "New Topics" to be present here because posting a reply is an activity. Comparing results from here with "New Topics" shows that "Latest Acticity" ... well... I don't know what exactly I am looking at. It does not make sense to me.

    Latest Topics

    - Is this a list of newly created topics, regardless whether I have read all posts or not?
