Never modded that file so i don't really know wich one it is.
i added that code in the .htaccess that lives in the root folder (public_html)... it broke my forum completely, so i remove the code and everything was back to normal (was very scary hehe)
Then i added the code to the file that lives in public_html/core/vb5 but nothing happens, still got white screen on the vbshout options

This is the ending of the file, i don't want to show the rest
That one gave me error and i was unable to open the forum or the adminCP
Later i tried again but is like the file got restored automatically and removed the code that i pasted
Maybe i have to turn of the forum o try different permissions, don't know never edited this file.

the smile don't work what to do to enable them?

First download the [DBTech] vBShout (vB5) v6.2.2[Lite].zip file from the first post and upload it to ftp.
Later
Set max_input_vars value to 10000 from PHP configuration settings in web host admin panel

Indeed, you have to put the vars at 10000
However, "cdr" is right, Smileys do not work anymore.
When you click on the button of the smileys, you see the "dropdown".
When you click on the smiley you want to send, it wil be placed in the "text input bar".
When you click (enter of whatever) to send it, there is no error, but the smiley does not appear in the shout.
Hope you can resolve this

You should change the value of the message field collation in the phpmyadmin dbtech_vbshout_shout table to utf8mb4_unicode_ci.
Emoji always works with utf8mb4.
In the video, I showed how to change it.
